Existing kitchen facilities to the existing Barn building are very limited, requiring school meals to be sourced externally. Proposed works involve extensive remodelling and enlargement of the Barn to provide an improved kitchen area with increased storage. There are a large number of trees in close proximity to the proposed extension, and hence a piled raft foundation supporting a lightweight timber clad frame was adopted.
